$3.5 Million settlement – Nursing error causes brain damage

A 43-year old mother of one was admitted to a Miami hospital for induction of labor as a “high risk” pregnant patient.

$4 Million settlement – Construction accident result

Luis Lombardo, a 37 year-old father of four, was rendered a quadriplegic when he fell from a roof at a housing construction site.

$2.160 Million jury verdict award – Van rollover case

We represented a 24 year-old amateur athlete from St. Kitts in an auto negligence/dangerous instrumentality case against Value Rent-A-Car.

$2.4 Million judgment – Precedent setting airline case

A week long trial in federal court resulted in a $2.4 Million judgment against Lufthansa German Airlines and in favor of Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Krys.

$2.4 Million settlement – Auto head-on collision

A $2.4 Million settlement from Alamo Rent-A-Car was obtained for four adult children whose parents were killed while they were riding their motorcycle and were hit head-on by tourists driving a van rented from Alamo.

$900,000 settlement – Florida Supreme Court precedent setting rape case

A $900,000 settlement was obtained in a premises liability/negligent security action against a clinic where our client, a female graduate student, was robbed, kidnapped, and sexually assaulted.

$1 Million settlement – widow of professional baseball player
After a two-week trial, we were able to obtain a settlement in excess of $1 Million against a national hotel chain for the death of our client’s 30 year-old husband who was a guest at one of the company’s South Florida hotels.

$480,000 jury verdict – against Rinker Materials of Florida, Inc.

ARONOVITZ LAW obtained a $480,000 verdict from a Broward County jury after our client suffered crush injuries when his vehicle was struck head-on by a cement truck.

Class Actions

ARONOVITZ LAW has achieved significant, substantive relief for our class action clients in Florida and nationwide. We and our co-counsel have successfully litigated important consumer protection issues in Florida and across the country.

Mobile Home Owners v. Liberty American.

ARONOVITZ LAW won a $40 million class action settlement for Florida mobile home insured’s. On January 26, 2012, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida approved a class action settlement between a class of insured mobile homeowners and a group of insurance companies operating under the name “Liberty American”. The homeowners who brought the case argued that Liberty American failed to pay them thousands of dollars each for the full replacement costs for their mobile homes that had suffered significant damage as a result of hurricanes that hit Florida in 2004 and 2005. Liberty American denied any fault or wrongdoing. The class action settlement provided for a $40,000,000 “common fund” to be used to pay mobile homeowners.

Fresco v. Auto Data Direct, et al.

A massive nationwide privacy case class action settlement composed of over 200 million Americans whose personal information was distributed in violation of federal privacy laws. The historic settlement required eight (8) corporate defendants to implement extensive programs and policies to protect consumers’ privacy, and to put an end to alleged misuse of class members’ personal information.

Saltzman v. Pella Windows.

Prevailed against a top of the line window manufacturer on a multi-million dollar vigorously contested class certification motion which approved a multi-state class. The Federal Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit upheld the lower court’s class certification decision.

Collier v. Fred O. Dickinson, et al.

Class Action settled against the State of Florida, Department of Motor Vehicles, valued at $20,000,000 which was approved by a Miami Federal Judge providing relief for a class of Florida drivers whose personal information was sold to private marketing companies by the State of Florida.

Curry v. Fairbanks Capital Corporation.

ARONOVITZ LAW won a $55 million settlement on behalf of a nationwide class of borrowers who were the subject of predatory lending practices.

Spund v. Associates Financial Services.

A predatory lending case resulted in a settlement of a consumer class case consisting of 5,000 members and a settlement fund of $2.5 million.

Hernandez v. GE Capital Consumer Card Co.

ARONOVITZ LAW won a $67 million settlement of a national class action against a credit card bank.
