Aronovitz Law, along with The Lawrence Law Firm, Lite DePalma Greenberg LLC, and Karon LLC, have filed a class action complaint on behalf of their client against Dollar Rent A Car for misrepresentations related to administration fees charged as a result of customers traveling on toll roads during their rental car period. As of 2011, Dollar charges an administration fee of $15 per toll (prior to 2011 it was $25) with a maximum of $105 during the entire rental period. Other rental car companies charge a daily administration fee, not a per toll fee, and all charge less than $25 as a maximum fee during the entire rental period. The named Plaintiff drove through one toll and incurred a charge of $1.37 for the toll. However, Dollar also imposed its $15 administration fee for a charge $16.37 for the one toll. The Plaintiff seeks to represent all Dollar Rent A Car customers who rented Dollar vehicles for pick up in Florida and who paid Dollar’s $15 or $25 administration fee commencing in January 2008.

The class action complaint alleges claims for breach of contract, violation of the Florida Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Fla. Stat. § 501.201 et seq., and breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing under Florida law.
